Throughout the summer of 2002, the Naperville United Way and the City of Naperville, IL, joined forces to bring these beautiful life-size carousel horses to reality. About six-dozen horses were prominently displayed on the sidewalks and along the scenic river walk of Naperville. Sponsors, artists and numerous volunteers worked untold hours behind the scenes to make this special event possible. Each horse was designed and decorated to have its own unique story to tell -- a truly one-of-a-kind work of art. At the conclusion of the event, the horses were auctioned off with all proceeds benefiting the 25 agencies supported by the Naperville United Way.
